Every weekend holiday
Including weekends and public holidays, we have around 114 days off. Compared to 30 days of holiday a year, that's not bad. So why not spontaneously take a day or two off for a trip to the neighbourhood, pursue a hobby or visit friends? Provided you can do it spontaneously and quickly.
That's exactly why we developed our small tent trailer. It fits in the garage and is immediately ready for use. It is so light and small that it can be towed by any car and is also easy to push. It's easy to set up and you don't need a special parking space as you sleep above the ground. We are not a caravan or a tent, we are Booba and we are "tenting".

Back to the Roots
For us, tenting means embarking on an adventure with nature. We want to make it easy to get out and explore the most beautiful corners of the near and far surroundings. But it also means taking responsibility and treating the environment with care. How much space do we really need and how much comfort do we need all the time? Of course we're a bit eco, but it doesn't have to look that way. We call it ‘The sexy reason’. That's why our Booba is not only stylish (winner of the RLP 2024 design award), but also extremely small, light, space-saving, versatile and still very comfortable for its size. An electric car consumes only 15 % more energy when driving and once you arrive, the shading of the underbody is minimal due to its shape.

urbanoid ... who?
One idea, two partners and three years to build - it sounds simple at first, but it was anything but. Although we, Thomas and Martin, have more than 25 years of experience in product development, a project of this size with no workshop and a modest budget was a major challenge. We had to rely on our will, our ingenuity and our experience, as well as on our many good friends who never let us down. Thank you. But that's not all. We have founded urbanoid GmbH, applied for patents, received road authorisation and are now going into production. At urbanoid, we believe that camping is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the stress of big cities and experience the beauty of nature. Our vision is to make camping accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget or vehicle. That's why we develop, produce and sell compact lifestyle camping trailers that offer an easy and affordable way to experience the best of life and explore our world.

FAQ
What material will the trailer ultimately be made from?
Due to the size, we have many other options besides fibre composites. The aim is to use a material that is robust and resistant and yet leaves a small ecological footprint.
Where did you gain your experience?
We have developed all kinds of products for a large number of international customers, including both global corporations and medium-sized companies. In addition to consumer goods, these include caravans as well as aircraft and car interiors. Find out more here.
How can I store Booba in the garage?
We have developed and tested a stand that allows the trailer to be set up vertically using one person's muscle power.
What surface do I need for the trailer?
It only needs to be secured to the ground in very strong winds.
Can I use Booba as a range extender?
We adhere to the simple laws of physics. We currently have one battery installed in the trailer. Up to 3 can be installed. We believe it is counterproductive to use batteries for operation or to keep the wheels running. Charging stations are already limited. Double charging with a trailer requires more time and is difficult to realise, especially at peak travel times. Our aim is to use less energy right from the start.
Why do you have a telescopic drawbar?
There are two advantages. Firstly, the drawbar can be removed to set up the trailer. This minimises the space required for storage. Secondly, there are advantages in terms of driving dynamics when the drawbar is extended and used on long journeys. However, if you are travelling in small towns, you can be more manoeuvrable on narrow roads by shortening the drawbar.
Why do you have an exhaust system on your trailer?
For us, the design is a homage to travelling in a roadster. In the past, mobility wasn't political and wasn't viewed purely in terms of efficiency. For us, mobility has always meant freedom, a value that we attach great importance to, especially today. The two exhaust silencers serve as a connection for the shore power and as an outdoor shower.
